Pickling Lime is an essential agent in balancing the pH of your indigo vat to ensure the accuracy of the dye and vibrancy of color. Calcium Hydroxide is also used in extracting pigment from indigo plants.
We recommend using our lime powder to increase alkalinity in any vat. 200 grams to 1 pound of powder is used for an indigo iron vat of about 5 to 15 gallons.
